Lesson 09 · Virtual Interviews
Set Up Your Space Like a Pro
A bad camera or echoey room creates friction before you say a word.
What to do
- 1
Camera at eye level. Stack books under the laptop until the lens meets your eyes.
- 2
Light in front, not behind. A window behind you turns you into a silhouette.
- 3
Headphones, always. Laptop speakers feed their voice back into your mic and cause echo.
- 4
Clean, neutral background. A tidy wall beats a styled set.
- 5
Close everything else. Tabs shut, notifications silenced — treat it like a physical room.
- 6
Dry run 30 minutes out. Audio, camera, and the meeting link itself.
